salvation
Deliverance begins with a personal relationship with Yeshua (Jesus) the Messiah. Without a relationship with Him, you can have no access to the Holy Spirit as you are legally still dead in your sins. (Ephesians 2:1-2,5) It is through the Holy Spirit that demons are cast out and strongholds are broken. Deliverance did not and could not occur until Yeshua began His ministry because only He was holy enough to have God’s Spirit living inside of Him. It was by the Spirit’s power that He freed people oppressed by demons and it is by that same Spirit that we can free ourselves. (Matthew 12:28) it is by the power of the Holy Spirit activated by the authority of Jesus’s Name that forces these generational curses to break.
Technically speaking, you do not have to be in relationship with Yeshua to use His Name (Acts 19:13-16) but you’ll end up with the same results that the Judean exorcists experienced where the demon left the man it was inhabiting and attacked them. But the demon did not just attack the men but “mastered” them, completely conquering them due to operating out of Covenant with Jesus. Let’s look a little deeper. The demon recognized Paul as belonging to Jesus and understood that it had no authority to attack him but turned to the exorcists who had no such protection. The Holy Spirit seals those who He lives within to the point where demons have no permission to enter unless invited (by word, action, or belief) of the individual or an individual in their bloodline (ancestors) (Ephesians 1:13 & Ephesians 4:26-27, Exodus 34:7)
You’re here because you want to be set free from sin. Great! But the battle for freedom requires you to know where freedom comes from. In John 8:31-32, “If you abide in My Word, you are truly My disciples, and you will know the Truth and the Truth will set you free.” Freedom comes from the Truth! In these verse Yeshua is actually talking about Himself. He is called the “Word of God” in John 1:1 & Revelation 19:13 and He calles Himself the Truth in John 14:6. So, in these verses, Jesus is making it clear that only in and through Him can one receive deliverance and freedom.
Because the Truth sets us free, it’s the lies of the Father of Lies, Satan, that keeps us in bondage. (John 8:44). The lies we believe in our hearts lead us to desire the sins of Satan, trapping us into greater and greater slavery. The truth Satan does not want you to realize is that all his desires that he has given to us as a result of Adam’s sins in the Garden of Eve, are all based on lies. In fact, they are lies in and of themselves. The Bible calls them “deceitful desires” (Ephesians 4:22) that can never deliver on the promises they offer. Promises such as joy, satisfaction, affection, connection, protection, purpose, or peace.
Here’s the truth the Devil is trying to keep you from: Each of us was born a slave, a slave to our family history, the desires of our bodies, our intrusive thoughts and mindsets, and the lies we believe in our hearts. We were born into the captivity of iniquity and as we continue to indulge the desires of our flesh, we tighten the spiritual chains of death around our soul. “everyone who practices sin is slave to sin.” And the slavery of sin leads to death. (John 8:34 & Romans 6:21)
See, Yahweh (God) made mankind perfect but Adam sinned and gave humanity a sin nature and now, by nature, we deserve God’s wrath for breaking His Perfect Law (Ephesians 2:3). No sin is different than the either, whether we lie, steal, rape, or murder, we are guilty of offending the Holy God and now earning His righteous judgment. “Whoever keeps all the Law but stumbles in one point has become guilty of them all” (James 2:10) because sin itself is lawlessness (1 John 3:4). God hates lawlessness so much because the power and wages of sin is death (Romans 6:23). His Holy Nature requires Him to punish and destroy sin because a Judge who fails to condemn sin, lawlessness and lawbreakers, would be even more wicked than those who broke it, and His Righteousness prevents Him from such corruption.
We suffer the death our sins have purchased through depression, anxiety, fear, loneliness, addiction, suicide and self-harming behaviors, and purposelessness and after, we die and go to a real hell that was never designed for you or for me (Matthew 25:41). Satan and his demons are destined for eternal punishment in the flames of hell but God wanted something better for you. So, He came up with a plan. God the Father, God the Son, and God the Spirit launched a rescue mission for humanity to save us from the strongholds of despair and the fires of hell by sending Yeshua. “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son…” (John 3:16a). This Freedom Fighter, this Prophesied Savior, entered into human history to liberate us from the condemnation of the Law by taking our punishment upon His back. He died the worst death known to man but He did so to satisfy the Law. The Law of Yahweh requires death for those who break His Perfect Law. Which is why Yeshua said that He “did not come to annul (cancel, abolish) the Law and the Prophets. . .but to satisfy (fulfill, accomplish, complete) them.” (Matthew 5:17) By Law, someone had to die for the sins of the world and He, God Himself, elected to do so for us. His death satisfied God’s wrath, fulfilling the death requirement of the Law brining peace between God the Father and Man once and for all through Himself.
Yeshua was entirely innocent, never sinning once. So when He died, death had no grounds (reason, claims) to hold Him in death so He resurrected on the third day (Acts 2:24). Sin is what allows death to keep us in the grave, sending us and trapping us in hell for eternity but Yeshua defeated death by dying without sin. Death had to let Him resurrect making Him the King Who Conquered Death. Because He died sinless and rose again, death no longer has dominion over Him and anyone who calls on His Name will be saved and upon dying, live forever in heaven with Him. (Romans 10:13)
Through Him He paid for our sins so that in a relationship with Him we are made holy through a phenomenon called “imputed righteousness”. We are not righteous on our own, by faith in Christ we have His righteousness imputed onto us. Along with imputed righteousness, through the uprooting process we can have imputed freedom which means that in His Name we no longer have to be depressed, lonely, addicted, or suicidal! We can be free!
Yeshua is the Mediator, connecting us to the freedom the Father wanted us to enjoy from the beginning which is why He said “I am the Way, and the Truth, and the Life. No one comes to the Father, if not by Me.” (John 14:6) because He not only is the Way TO the freedom we are looking for, but IS the Way of Freedom. It is written that He gives us the Spirit of Lord because where His Spirit is there is Liberty (2 Corinthians 3:17). But to have the Spirit of the Lord, we need the Lord. To have the Spirit of Truth, we need the Truth. If you are tired of being bogged down by sins and the worries of life and want to live a life of victory, then you NEED a relationship with Yeshua. The prayer below does NOT save you, it’s the faith that these words express that does.
PRAYER: Read/Pray this out loud
“Dear Heavenly Father,
I know I’m a sinner. I’ve broken your Perfect Law and so deserve your judgment. My sins have brought the misery of death into my life and I’m tired. I want a change. In your Word, You said that if I confess with my mouth that Yeshua (Jesus) is Lord, making Him King over my life and believe in my heart that God raised Him from the dead, then I will be saved. Today, I anoint You, Yeshua, as King over my life. What You say I do. I revoke my citizenship to the world and all it has to offer. I believe in my heart that You were raised from the dead, Yeshua, that You’re real, that You’re True, and that You’re alive. And I believe that I will resurrect and reign with You forever in Heaven. I ask that You forgive me of my sins and cleanse me of all unrighteousness. Purify me by your shed blood because without the shedding of Your blood there can be no forgiveness of sins (Hebrews 9:22). Please, fill me with your Holy Spirit and Holy Spirit lead me to and through the Way of Freedom so that I can walk in the complete liberty Yeshua bought for me. Thank You, Lord for setting me free! Today, I am a citizenship in the Kingdom of Yahweh and am a child of God Most High in Yeshua’s Name. Amen!”
